Leopold Mareis

Mathematical Statistician

About

I am a final year PhD student at the chair of Mathematical Statistics at TUM. I am very fortunate to be supervised by Mathias Drton and funded through MaRDI.

Before, I was a researcher at the Fraunhofer Institute for Cognitive Systems IKS in the group for Reasoned AI Decisions under the director Mario Trapp.

My research focuses on efficient estimation of causal effects through graphical modeling, with a strong emphasis on practical applicability. My perspective has been shaped by collaborations in medicine, the social sciences, and industry.
